I fucking love food

You heard me. I fucking love food.

I did a detox where I ate 500 kcal a day for three weeks and felt much better. Until my food cravings came back worse then before. And then I read this humble article about why detox might not be beneficial for you.

I love consciously indulging in life. I love food. I love my body. And somewhere there should be a balance between feeling healthy, being healthy and life’s treats (read: my current fetish for chocolate and peanutbutter).

I don’t know what’s best practice. I know there’s a fine line between the masculine, focussed and determined approach (strict lifestyle modifications but also feeling tensed about everything I put into my mouth) and the feminine approach (soft, loving and by times unconscious).

For now I combine eating healthy (lots of veggies throughout the day, some proteinshakes because I eat mostly vegan and don’t eat much protein, cutting out as much refined sugar and grains as well as products made from animals – with an exception for free range eggs, mostly from our own happy chicken) with enjoying treats like chocolat and exercise (started running today, cycling whenever I can and doing yoga a couple of times per week).

I’ve made myself a little poster to hang on the wall at a place where I see it often. As a reminder before eating/snacking, to remind myself of what I feel when I eat a lot of processed stuff, or fresh and alive products.

I love to share this poster with you. Just click it to access the full size format, print it and share it if you like. It’s my gift to you!

Food, shall we be friends?

This is the last article for now in a series of articles about food, vitamins and my experiences with detoxing. Now to a topic I love to share more with you about, but is slightly outside my comfort zone. Stay tuned!
