A Taste of Body Curiosity with Reid Mihalko and Wilrieke Sophia

February 20 @ 10:00 - 18:00 CET

Explore, unlock, and frolic in the wonders that each of our bodies holds beneath the skin with Reid Mihalko and Wilrieke Sophia!

If you’re feeling uninspired and lost when it comes to your body and others’… If you’ve lost touch with the curiosity and wonder we had as children when it came to our bodies and all the amazing things they can do… If you’ve stopped caring or don’t think you’re capable of uncovering more delicious things your body can do (or things you can help others do with theirs!)… Then join us and rediscover the wonder and pleasure and surprise each of our vessels contain!

Wouldn’t it be nourishing to feel a lover get lost in your body? How about YOU getting lost in your own body or someone else’s?

Your curiosity is a gift you can give to your body and others… Give it back to yourself and share it with others.

Whatever your reason or level of experience, join sex and relationship educators Reid Mihalko of ReidAboutSex.com and Wilrieke Sophia of Exploring Deeper for a workshop full of tips and tricks, live demos, self and partnered practice and Q&A!

> Please be mindful that due to changing COVID measures the timing of this day may change, e.g. to the afternoon instead of the evening. The facilitator team may change, e.g. when it’s impossible to travel into NL (in this case, Wilrieke will facilitate). We will ask for a QR code ánd selftest. Please inform yourself about our procedures before purchasing your ticket. The changes mentioned here (timing/facilitators) will not be a reason to refund your ticket. Check our COVID protocols for more info, www.exploringdeeper.com/covid.

In this fun, informative, playful and deep exploration, we’ll cover:

  • The differences between Shame Vs Inexperience and how Permission & Curiosity lead to Play & Confidence
  • What gets in our ways of being open and curious? And why so many of us never experience curiosity as an access to arousal…
  • Ways to evoke and hold one’s arousal as an access to feeling alive & nourished (rather than frustrated and shutdown!)
  • Approaches to connect deeply and be curious with each other’s bodies without touch
  • How to use touch in ways that awake the other senses
  • Understanding and experiencing what Reid calls “Hungry Hole” and why it can change the way you think about bodies, arousal, and pleasure

This is a red event. This is what it means here: basically undies on until last exercise, team members will be naked for demos/exercises, optional full body self-touch in the last exercise.

Bring toys, and a blanket as options for last exercise. Please bring something for yourself for lunch. On account of COVID safety, we will not be sharing food potluck-style.

Sex and relationship geek Reid Mihalko (he/him) of ReidAboutSex.com helps adults and college students create more self-esteem, self-confidence, and greater health and accountability in their relationships and sex lives using an inspiring mixture of humor, personal stories, keen insight, and comprehensive sexual health information.
In early 2018, some very brave people came forward sharing harms that Reid had caused them. Reid stepped down from teaching and initiated a restorative justice-based accountability process to address his misconduct and make amends if and where possible. The formal, year-long process along with Reid’s apology and resources were shared publicly and can be found at TinyURL.com/reidaccountability. Going forward, Reid’s projects and appearances will include pointing people towards resources and experts on restorative and transformative justice-based accountability processes.
Reid teaches internationally, running workshops and speaking on communication skills, alternative relationship styles, and shame-free sexuality. Whether online, on stage, or at a college or university, Reid shares skills and concepts designed to help everyone be the change they want to see in the bedroom.
Reid’s workshops and college lectures have been attended by over 50,000 men and women. He has appeared in media such as Oprah’s Our America With Lisa Ling on OWN, the Emmy award-winning talk show Montel, Dr. Phil’s The Doctors on CBS, Bravo’s Miss Advised, Fox News, in Newsweek, Seventeen, GQ, The Washington Post, and in thirteen countries and at least seven languages.
Reid is also founder of SexGeekSummerCamp.com and Sex Geek School for Gifted Sex Geeks which help sex educators learn valuable business skills that allow them to reach more people, transform move lives, and make a better living as sexperts.

Wilrieke Sophia (she/her, they/them) is a sex & intimacy educator, conscious kink facilitator, intimacy activist, TEDx speaker, writer, and founder of Exploring Deeper and Cuddle Workshops International.
She identifies as queer, sex-positive, polyamorous and kinky. Wilrieke is based near Amsterdam, The Netherlands where they openly combine being a mother of three daughters with their work.
The main focus of her work is empowerment through self-knowledge and understanding, radical self-inclusion, the embodied experiencing of boundaries and desires, and an extensive practice of consent – all based on a foundation of trauma awareness and neuroscience, embedded in experiential spaces based on intimacy practices.
Wilrieke hosts sex-positive retreats, play parties, teacher training, and festivals. In several projects with colleagues, Wilrieke creates workshops and materials on accountability, abuse and power dynamics in the intimacy and wellness communities.
We all need touch. Here at Exploring Deeper we believe that satisfying intimacy needs to be available for everyone. To have that intimacy, a person needs to feel safe and secure in their own body. We need to know our boundaries and desires, and we need to know how to communicate them. How does a person change their life? By doing things differently, and then repeating that new way. When it comes to intimacy, our current society does not provide us with the means, tools, and places to practice our intimacy skills.
Exploring Deeper aims to create those spaces. Laboratories for exploring intimacy – deeper. We do that by creating events, sessions, materials, and professional training. All our products and services are based on the pillars of solidarity and inclusion. This means our events are meant to be a welcoming place to you, independent of race, gender, age (though 18+), s.xual orientation, relationship style, being neurodivergent or neurotypical, being disabled or non-disabled, or looks.
We acknowledge everyone is learning and may make mistakes in addressing others, ourselves included. Making mistakes is welcomed in our workshops. Intentionally causing harm by discrimination, racism, misogyny, shaming, bullying, spreading disinformation etc is not tolerated. As a team we are actively speaking up against these issues, and repeated misconduct will lead to remove the person causing harm from the workshop and potentially withhold access to future events.

A few words on team ethics:
Integrity and creating a safer space is super important to us, the team of Exploring Deeper. You, the participants, are not our personal dating pool. There are power dynamics that can be juicy, but also abusive.
Members of our team, regardless of their role (which may be facilitator, assistant, co-facilitator, helper or participant) will not individually date people they meet in the workshop. They will not have any form of fluid exchange with participants.
We might support you in your exercises or provide a service during the play party (we’re always keen on helping you improve your spanking skills for example!).
If we have pre-existing partners or lovers in the workshop, we will disclose that at the opening of the workshop when appropriate.
If you are curious about our Guidelines for Team Members, feel free to check the full document out here: https://exploringdeeper.com/ethics

In the week before the event, you will receive an email with detailed information for this day. Make sure you sign up with the email address that you use. Check your spam filter if you did not receive an email seven days before the event (if you unsubscribed from our newsletter, these emails cannot reach you!).
To keep tickets at affordable pricing, we ask you to bring some (vegetarian) food to share. If you bring a bit more than just for yourself, we will end up with a luscious, abundant potluck. Made or bought with love is equally fine!
We will provide tea, water and some snacks throughout the day.
Wear what makes you feel comfortable during the workshops. Bring some layers, as you might get hot or cold. For the play party you can play with what you want to embody or experience: maybe a hidden part that desires some unveiling? A part you’d like to celebrate? Something that makes you feel safe to be in an exciting environment? Your pyjamas? Or do as I do and bring different options, so you can choose at the moment.
You find that info in the ticket shop. There is a limited amount of budget tickets, meant for people with limited financial resources. We trust you to choose the ticket that fits your situation. As our current venue does not provide mattresses and we ask you to bring soft things, we have decided to not raise our prices by 6% this year (the expected inflation rate) to compensate you for your trouble.
We want to include everyone, whatever your gender or identification is. That means there’s space for everyone, without one group getting overrepresented. Therefore there are tickets for people who identify themselves as male, female and other.
(We realize that there are many gender identities outside the binary norms. For practical reasons, we have summarized them as a category ‘other’ on the ticket sales pages. We apologize to anyone who does not feel represented by this category.)
Please only buy a ticket that represents your gender – and not any other ticket. Sold out = sold out.
You can bring ropes or other toys that may increase your pleasure for the play party in the evening. We will provide a wide range of things for shared use and to try out, partly sponsored by the amazing Tailboneshop.com.
There are administration costs involved, but refunds are possible. You are free to sell your ticket to someone else. We don’t mediate in selling tickets. (See Wilrieke’s terms and conditions). Please respect the gender of the ticket, and in case we send pre/aftercare emails, forward them to the person you sold your ticket to.
You can ask for a ticket in the FB-event. Usually, there are multiple play parties planned ahead.
Then you don’t. We will never push you to do anything, nor to do anything with anyone. You can come, decide to keep all your clothes on and not touch anyone – and that’s perfect. You can also always sit out an exercise.

COVID: Check our COVID-19 protocols here: https://www.exploringdeeper.com/covid.
We will ask for a QR code AND a self-test of max 24hr old for this event.
Ticket holders will be informed prior to the event through email. Always check your SPAM folder. If you have signed out for Wilrieke’s emails, these emails won’t reach you. Reach out to Wilrieke if you did not get any information seven days before the event.
For all our events, Exploring Deeper’s Terms and Conditions apply.
