The fear of abandonment is a pattern often created when we were young, and people close to use weren’t available to our infant needs the way we desired them to be. As adults, abandonment fear can come up creating unhealthy dynamics where we try to hold on to relationships that don’t help or nourish us – or can create feelings of insecurity when we do not find the confirmation we want from the other.
