How to deal with PMS

Usually I love life. I’m happy and content with the people surrounding me, I’m patient and friendly. But some days I just don’t recognize myself. It’s like I can’t reach myself. I feel like being trapped in a thundercloud. Like a barrel of TNT that can explode any second. And usually it will. What’s wrong with me? The PMS monster Pre Menstrual Syndrome. There you go. The abbreviation hated by men, because it turns their women into monsters. Hated by women, because we know how it feels. Does every woman suffer from PMS? No. The effects of a healthy menstrual cycle are different for each woman. And even for a woman, each month is different. Some months are hell, some…

Free Food

A few days ago I came across the Food is Free project. In this project people are invited to grow food in their front yard, and share it for free with their neighbors. A vision for the future is a community with free, fresh produce on the sides of the road, available for everyone. Along with growing food together, this model envisages to connect people, becoming friends and supporting one another. I totally love this idea of free food. We have enough resources on the earth to feed all people. Nevertheless, many people are starving to death. The rich countries use that many natural resources, causing poor countries having to cope with huge shortages. There are movements that preach we…

Healing myself – part 1 and 2

It feels like I’m going through all my chakras to really clear them up from all deep pain and hurt that is still there. Last week on Wednesday Seb and I had our first fight. It was about a misinterpretation of how much we’d tell each other about our openness in relationships. We had an argument but talked things over during the next days and eventually came out stronger than before. But our fight also opened a well of fear. I cried and cried. I felt so unsafe and sad. It was like a major fear from the past wasd triggered. All of a sudden I felt like the little girl in the situations I always had to deal with in…

How to release jaw tension

How to release jaw tension

The jaws can be a major place for physical stress to accumulate. Just as the neck, shoulders and back, the jaws are a hotspot for mental unease to build up. Why at the jaws? Because we were told to do so. A little history of jaw tension There’s a little kid, sitting at the dinner table. The kid had a great day at school and wants to tell all about it. But the parents are talking with each other. They haven’t seen each other all day too and are just as eager to tell about their day. The kid constantly interrupts the conversation of the parents. They ask the kid politely to wait a little bit. When they are finished…

What is healing?

Healing by using the hands is the oldest form of medicine. The history of healing goes back a long time. It’s older than using plants and herbs. Ancient Egyptian priests are pictured placing their hands on people in hieroglyphs. Over 2000 years old Indian Vedic texts describe how the human body can be healed by using healing energy. Life force energy The concept of life force energy is widespread through human culture. Life force is what permeates through all living things. It’s what differentiates alive from dead. It’s the essence of the body, the spirit, the soul. Chinese call it Chi, Japanese call it Ki, Indians call it Prana, Greeks call it Pneuma and Hawaiians call it Mana. We can…

Easy vegan comfort food

My 30 day vegan challenge was a success! Actually, it wasn’t hard at all to eliminate all animal and dairy products from my diet. I love cooking and improvising. So some restrictions are nothing but a challenge to invent new recipes 🙂 I love to share some of my favorite vegan comfort food recipes. These recipes are all very easy to make, take less than half an hour and require no complex ingredients. Vegan fruit pie This recipe is not my own, but I stole it from Steve Pavlina’s blog. This fruit pie is actually raw when you are using raw nuts. I have no clue where to get raw nuts in my country, so I just used the nuts…

Did you laugh today?

What are the things that really make you laugh? Your kids, a cute puppy, watching Monty Pyton on television? You may be able to laugh about yourself. Maybe you can just laugh without a cause. Laughing is healthy Laughing is a very healthy thing to do. While laughing, you activate more than a hundred muscles throughout your body. More oxygen flows to your body’s cells, the bronchia are ventilated, catabolic processes are advanced, muscles relax, the heart and circulation are stimulated. Your brain stops producing stress hormones and starts producing hormones like dopamin, endorphins and serotonin, hormones that relax your body and mind and give you a happy feeling. There is even research that indicates laughing stimulates the immune system and…

Conscious Shopping makes a Difference

We always have a choice and we are 100% for everything we do. This includes shopping. Whereas we might think that buying one particular item at any particular place will not influence the planet, it will do so. Do you know the Butterfly Effect? Everything you do matters to all of us and forever. Even the smallest actions we take can have a huge impact on the whole world. Maybe you value animal welfare and you wish no animal to get hurt. But you love your steak. There are so many people eating meat, what difference does it make whether you buy a steak or not? Or you love ice cream. There’s just a little milk in there. It’s sad…
